The Academy has been set up by Offshore Marine Management with an objective to:
Introduction:
This course is intended for people who have received no formal hydrographic training but who do work, or want to work in this field. The course provides a thorough knowledge for functionaries who frequently work with hydrographic recording and processing software and/or functionaries who frequently work together with hydrographers. No special preliminary training is required.
Training Content:
This course deals with the currently used hydrografic survey methods and measurement principles. The course deals with geodesy, positioning, data acquisition of single” and multibeam” echo-sounding systems and other sensors such as “Side Scan Sonar” and “Sub –bottom Profilers” with its accuracies. The following subjects are covered:
Training Facility:
The training will take place at the Offshore Marine Academy premises in Bristol and will be delivered by Skilltrade. Full training facilities with individual work stations will ensure every course participant receives full hands-on experience throughout the course.
Duration:
This programme will be delivered over a 2 day period.
