Offshore Marine Management, set up in 2003, is a one-stop marine solutions company.
It provides total project support and a consultancy support network to assist in the completion of turnkey solutions, procurement, installation, and maintenence services for both marine and cable based projects.
It offers a comprehensive range of services and expertise, both nationally & internationally.
These are predominantly offshore renewable energy, oil and gas,and telecommunications. It is ISO9001:2008 accredited, and has offices in Bristol, Cambridge, Bremen, Singapore, Boston and Abu Dhabi.
The growth of the offshore sector has allowed for rapid expansion of Offshore Marine Management. This has significantly increased the demand for offshore personnel and the support network for its clients. In response, it has adopted a philosophy to actively promote training and competence skills via the academy.
With the assurance of quality training, its mission is to contribute a sustainable supply of highly motivated, skilled workers to the offshore sector, and to cater for the increasing demands of personnel for its clients and the industry as a whole.
Introduction:
This course is designed to meet the requirements for training laid out in the International Ship and Port facility Security code (ISPS code) and the guidance laid out in the SOLAS Regulations 1974. The Ship Security Officer position was formalised under the regulations listed above and the training has become mandatory for all those wishing to fulfil the role of Ship Security Officer on vessels over 500 tonnes. This course is suitable for those employed in the maritime industry seeking to engage in aspects of security, or who are seeking to become employed as a Ship Security Officer. It is also suitable for security professionals seeking to expand their employability or consultancy skills into the burgeoning maritime security sector.

The training will take place at the Offshore Marine Academy premises in Bristol and will be delivered in partnership with MTCS. Full training facilities with individual work stations will ensure every course participant receives full hands-on experience throughout the course.

Certification:
Successful candidates who have 12 months sea service will achieve an internationally recognised Ship Security Officer certificate, approved by the Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA). Candidates without 12 months sea service will achieve a Certificate of Proficiency in Performing Designated Security Duties at Sea.
